A Grand Day Out at the Suffolk Show

Every year, the Suffolk Show brings together the best of our county — a celebration of local enterprise, craftsmanship, and community spirit. This year’s event was no exception, with sunshine, smiles, and a wonderful mix of small and large businesses showcasing what makes Suffolk thrive.

From artisan craft stalls to agricultural machinery, vets, colleges, and even the army, the showground was buzzing with activity. It’s always inspiring to see how many different trades and talents contribute to our local economy — each one playing a part in keeping Suffolk a thriving business community.

I particularly enjoyed visiting the animal pens and watching those who work so closely with them. There were horses being shoed, horses jumping, and even tree surgeons racing up trunks — all demonstrating skill, precision, and dedication. It reminded me that whether you’re balancing books or balancing on a branch, attention to detail matters!

The food stalls were a highlight — a delicious audit of Suffolk’s finest flavours. From local produce to street food, everything was fresh, creative, and full of character. And of course, I couldn’t resist sampling the local breweries — Adnams earned top marks for quality and refreshment on a sunny afternoon.

The Suffolk Show is more than just a day out; it’s a reminder of how collaboration and community underpin successful businesses. Seeing so many passionate people sharing their craft and expertise was a real boost — proof that when we work together, we all prosper.

Here’s to another year of local enterprise, teamwork, and sunshine — and to Suffolk’s businesses continuing to grow, innovate, and inspire.
